Victorian Silver Brooch - Basket of Flowers - Engraved Date of July 1859
This silver engraved Brooch pin dates to the 19th Century. It is one of the nicest engraved jewellery pins I have found. To the front there is a looped border design surrounding an overflowing basket of flowers on a cross hatched background; it is exquisite! It has no hallmarks but I believe it to be silver. On the reverse it is also engraved with initials and the date being July 1859 making this delightful Antique piece over 160 years old but still in fantastic condition. The size is large; there is a £1 in the set of photos to help you gauge this for yourself. Measurements are approx 5cms by 4cms. These antique brooches with floral designs were popular gifts as love tokens. The reverse of this silver brooch has an open 'c' clasp and the long pin you expect on 19th century jewellery. . This collectable old silver brooch would be perfect for a collector of Victorian costume or as a smart, wearable accessory on a jacket or coat lapel.
