Here we have a nice exceptionally rare Edwardian Early Motor Car brooch in English Sterling Silver. The Antique vehicle pin will appeal to collectors of figural brooches but also to anyone with a love of early vintage vehicles - those who love the Goodwood Festival of Speed or anyone who owns a car as early as this one. It would suit a gent or a lady - perfect to pin on a jacket lapel or a hat when you go out motoring! This Edwardian car is a very detailed miniature. It is 3 dimensional with wheels, upholstered seats, gear stick, lamps and steering wheel all there. This collectable antique Car brooch is the work of Birmingham silversmiths Adie and Lovekin who were known for their high quality small “fancies” in the form of sewing items, pens and pencils, fobs and jewellery. Fully hallmarked as English Sterling Silver ( Lion passant) with the Anchor for Birmingham symbol assay office and with the letter 'e’ for 1905 the brooch is from the Edwardian era. The makers Adie and Lovekin worked from Vyse Street, Birmingham. So the sweet small car pin is in excellent condition with just a few surface marks indicative of its age. The silver car brooch measures 3cms by 2cms and has a long pin with old fashioned 'c' type clasp to the reverse.
