Sold 1920's Bangle - Black Celluloid set with Diamanté French Art Deco
Bangles and Armlets from the 1920s are desirable as they are now genuine antiques. It was very fashionable back in the roaring twenties to wear a group of bangle bracelet on your arm and the demand for this look was met by jewellery makers everywhere. It was also a trend to have just one armlet high above your wrist. You can buy them in precious metals like gold and silver, and also in the range of early plastics that were in use at the time. This vintage bangle is made from Celluloid and it would have been intended to have an onyx like appearance being liquorice black. The bracelet measures 8.5cms from outer edge to outer edge and 6.5cms across the open middle making the tube wall a tad over half a centimetre . This Art Deco beauty is most likely French as it has inset glass diamond jewels all around in four grouped and also has tiny metal pins for added sparkle. Some of the stones have turned a little champagne in colour over the years and a few of the tiny metal pins are missing but this is still a sparkly beauty. The shape is round. This 1920s bracelet is in very good condition. A perfect addition to a collection of vintage costume jewellery from the Art Deco era or lovely for your collection of Bakelite era plastic jewellery.
