Purple Faux Amethyst Vintage designer signed SPHINX Gold Plated Jewelled Brooch

Here we have a lovely vintage Brooch signed by highly-collected makers ' Sphinx’ -  quality costume jewellery designers under the Ciro brand in the UK.   The brooch is an abstract flower in the form of a domed jewelled circle. In a golden metal finish this brooch is set with a large round faceted amethyst jewel to the centre then there are seven purple jewels surrounding this. The metal work, gold plate, Is in great order to the front and  on the reverse  and consists of shaped custom frames with claws holding the  gemstones.  The Brooch, which fastens with a secure roll-over type clasp is approximately 2 inches in diameter with a gentle rise effect. This vintage pin has all the style you would expect from the “flower power” 1960's to early 1970's when it was made.  This brooch is in  good condition.
