A 1970s Heart Brooch -Rare Lea Stein Pin - Diamanté Set - Love Heart

This is a delightful and rare early Lea Stein romantic love heart brooch. Perfect for a gift for Valentine’s Day or to celebrate an anniversary, engagement, wedding or just because you love it!  This heart brooch from Lea Stein of Paris is some 50 years old. It is also a clever technical piece of work with many  layers. Shades of brown, caramel, chocolate and cream have been used within the cellulose acetate to create it. It has a deep cut angled through to the left side to reveal just how many spectacular layers have been skillfully applied. A further decorative touch which adds a touch of sparkle is the use of fifteen individual small round  diamanté jewels which have been inset in a pattern over the right hand side of this unusual pin.  This pretty brooch is Vintage dating to the early 1970's. In excellent condition the love heart brooch measures approximately 5cms by 3.5cms with a chunky half a centimetre in thickness..  This  pin has a brown laminate to the reverse.   Every piece of jewellery created by Lea Stein is unique due to the hand made process.  This collectable brooch has the wishbone shaped white metal pin with roll over 'c' clasp bearing the words "Lea Stein , PARIS".   Lea Stein's brooches always sit beautifully and the lightness of the plastics ensure they are suitable for your lighter fabrics like linen but they are equally at home on the lapel of a heavy winter coat.  This  vintage 1970's tortoise brooch is a remarkable design from Lea Stein who is famed for her jewellery, particularly her animal designs which have featured cats, foxes, dogs, birds and many other things over her history.   Here is a little more information about Lea Stein and her fabulous and whimsical jewellery.....

LEA STEIN  was born in Paris in 1931 and worked as a dress designer. She began making her now famous Jewellery when her  husband, Fernand Steinberger, ( a Plastics Chemist ) discovered a process of laminating cellulose acetate to create a unique range of colours & patterns.
