1950s Flowers Brooch - Silver and Marcasite
This English floral brooch features three four petalled flowers with engraved leaves on a stem. The design is intricate with the use of natural marcasites and engraved lines of silver to create the petals and leaves which in turn give the brooch a layered effect. The use of open space between the flower heads ensures that, when pinned onto an outfit, this brooch really looks spectacular. Dating from circa 1950s this brooch has age but is in excellent condition with all the lovely grey marcasite stones sparkling well and the silver having just a little patina which adds to the depth of the design. Simply marked 'Silver' for Sterling silver, on the back this vintage brooch fastens with a secure roll over type clasp closure. It is a delicate size being 1.25 inches by 1 inch. Floral brooches of this kind is often used as love tokens and are perfect gifts.
