Late 1940's - Early 1950's Silver and Marcasite Rose Brooch (SOLD)
This is a very stylish vintage brooch in sterling silver set with lots of twinkly real marcasite stones. The brooch is that most loved of flowers - The Rose. This vintage silver brooch is of an open rose bloom on stem with leaves around it. Measuring almost 3 inches by 2.5 inches and with a very good weight this is a quality piece of vintage silver and marcasite jewellery. The Rose is symbolic for lovers and for England and is one of the popular flowers used in antique romantic jewellery. This delightful vintage rose brooch is in excellent condition. One the reverse is is marked 'SILVER' and it fastens with a secure 'roll-over' type clasp. I have left the brooch with its natural patina as people often want their vintage and antique jewellery to look its age. If you wanted this vintage brooch to look like new it would be very easy to clean up the silver metal using a silver cloth or silver wadding or polish.
