VINTAGE SILVER AND CULTURED PEARL TIE-CLIP (SOLD)

I would estimate that this tie clip dates from between 1965 and 1975 as it has that period style.  Made of rhodium coated silver it is bright and shiny, as new.  It is common for  fine sterling silver jewellery manufactured in Japan or the USA to be finished with rhodium as it prevents tarnish and saves you having to clean the item!   The design is a kind of random open honeycomb effect which has texture.  The tie clip is finished with a nice large creamy cultured pearl measuring approx 7mm in diameter.  It fastens with a spring clip to the reverse where it is simply marked with a capital letter T in a shield or clamshell shaped hallmark ( very similar to the Japanese Mikimoto Mark) and the words 'SILVER'.  This tie clasp is 4.5cms in length and 1cm at its widest point.
