Vintage Buckle - 1930s - 1940s Art Deco Composition
This large, genuine Art Deco buckle is one which you thread your belt through and it can be retained in position by the moving metal 'tongue' attachment. This interesting buckle dates to the 1930s or 1940s period and has a chunky appearance with two circular motifs and a striking Art Deco design. The colour is a strong dark deep green. In an early plastic composition material or possibly a “pulp ware” moulding this buckle is typical of those made of the new man-made plastics such as Bakelite. This buckle is offered in very good condition. Perfect for your sewing projects or to add Art Deco style it is certainly a statement accessory. This Green Buckle measures 4 inches in length, 2 inches at its widest point and with a thickness of about .25 of an inch.
