Vintage Bakelite Buckle - Applejuice Colour - 1930s - 1940s Art Deco
This large, genuine Bakelite or phenolic resin buckle is one which you thread your belt through and it can be retained in position by the moving 'tongue' attachment. This interesting buckle dates to the Art Deco 1930s or 1940s period and has a kind of 'Crazy Paving' design to it with a textured and dipped surface. The colour is a glorious golden Applejuice shade. The opaque nature of this material allows for a colour change depending on the background fabric; light textiles will give a stronger yellow and darker fabrics a more amber colour. This buckle is offered in Excellent order and it is certainly a statement accessory measuring 8cms by 6 cms and with a thickness of about 6mms.
