Vintage 1950s Marcasite Ivy Leaf Brooch - Rhodium Plated White Metal

A lovely sparkly brooch which dates to the 1950's era is on offer here.   This vintage Ivy Leaf pin is encrusted with loads of real marcasites. Marcasites are a natural gem, Iron Pyrites, and have been widely used in precious and costume jewellery since the early 19th Century. They have a soft lustre and twinkle gently. Often brooches of this kind are set in Rhodium plated white metal which means that they never tarnish and keep their good looks without the need for cleaning. This vintage brooch has open-work in the centre of the leaf which allows the fabric of the garment to show through for a really stylish effect. This leaf pin is gently curved so it will stand out when pinned to your garment.  Measuring 2 inches by 1.5 inches this brooch is offered in excellent condition. It fastens with a roll-over clasp.
