Victorian Deep Carved Whitby Jet Bar Brooch (Sold)

This is a lovely decorative bar pin from the 19th Century.  This brooch is made from natural Whitby Jet.  It is simple in design yet the construction is quite intricate. There are five separate rectangular pieces with cross cut decoration mounted on a  long rectangle of jet.  This Victorian brooch measures approx 1.5 inches by a quarter of an inch.  The Whitby Jet is mounted on a silver tone pin which fastens with an old-fashioned 'c' type clasp.  This lovely antique brooch is in great condition and would be perfect for a collector or anyone who loves Victorian and Antique jewellery.
