Sword Tie Clip - Wide - Vintage 1970s - Gold Plated

Here is a tie clip in the form of a sword.  There is great attention to detail on the guard and handle grip which are patterned.  The tie clip is base metal finished with gold plating and has an interesting shape to the blade. It is a large size and it measures nearly  3.5 inches across in length and is a little more than half an inch wide at its widest point in the sword handle guard.  This vintage tie clip fastens with a slide clip with the actual sword part being open to attach to the front of the tie and make it appear as if it has been pierced through by the sword. It is marked with the words
'Stratton's Imitation 'Made in England' and these are clues to its brand and materials. It is a desirable Stratton tie clip and would make a super gift for a swashbuckling hero or would be a good tie pin to add to a collection of vintage novelty tie accessories. This vintage Stratton tie pin dates to the 1970s when very wide ties were in fashion. It is offered in very good condition.
