Sweater Guard 19502 era - Cloak Clip Duo - Vintage Dress Accessory (sold)
When ladies wore a twinset ( Cardigan with matching sweater) they would often fasten the cardigan with a sweater guard. Similar jewellery was used for fastening cloaks too. A sweater guard enables you to wear your cardigan in a cloak like fashion, no arms in sleeves. It simply holds the two front edges together in its clips. This particular vintage sweater guard has two nice bright lemon pearlised lucite discs and the metal is gilded throughout. In very good condition the only signs of wear on this vintage fashion accessory is a few small scratches on the back of the clips. Measurements are 2cms in diameter for the lemon lucite discs and 3cms in length for the whole clip on both sides. The gilt metal chain that connects the clips is around 15 cms in length.
