Sterling Silver Hair Comb- Hallmarked Birmingham 1903 (SOLD)
This is a beautiful English hallmarked sterling silver hair accessory. The Haircomb has a pierced and engraved design to the top with two tines or prongs each with a twist in the centre to help it to stay in the hair. This type of comb would have been positioned in the high hairstyle of the Edwardian era. A quality item, the haircomb measures approximately five inches in length by one and half inches in width at the widest point. This silver haircomb has the lion passant to indicate that it is silver, the anchor symbol for the Birmingham assay office and the date letter for the year 1903. The makers are Adie and Lovekin Ltd. It is in excellent condition.
