SOLD Vintage Signed Trifari Zebra Brooch - 1966 ARK Series

If Animal Brooches are your thing they don't come much better than this amazing Zebra pin.  Here we have a piece of vintage designer signed costume jewellery from the famous Trifari company made as part of their 1966 Ark Series jewellery.  This Trifari Zebra brooch is gold plated with black enamel detail and a shaped red 'ruby' glass eye.  The gold finish is textured on the front and rear of the brooch and the quality of this brooch is excellent. This vintage brooch has a 3D effect with the Zebra rearing up on his hind legs tail curled, ears pricked up,  nostrils flared and mane erect.  This brooch is full of character and is guaranteed to appeal to anyone who loves zebras, horses or collects equine jewellery.  It would naturally appeal to collectors of Trifari Jewelry too!  Trifari have long been one of the pre-eminent costume jewelry manufacturers in the USA with a deserved reputation for quality and style.  Famous wearers of Trifari Jewellery include American first ladies such as Mamie Eisenhower in the 1950s and the Company were also commissioned to produce the fabulous vintage jewellery used in the Madonna film - Evita.  This Trifari Zebra brooch has the famous signature 'Trifari' mark on its reverse and it fastens with a secure roll over type clasp.  This Trifari Zebra pin is a 1960's brooch a piece of whimsical jewellery that  is an example of Trifari re-using their old designs.  A similar Zebra Brooch was submitted with Patent 131242 in 1942.  The goldtone Zebra brooch measures 7cms by 4.5cms at its widest points.
