SOLD Deco 1940s Diamante and Blue Stone Brooch - Gorgeous (SOLD)
Diamante and Soft Blue jewels are used to great effect in this 1940s brooch. There are 7 large navettes in blue and lots of round diamante as well as varied size of baguette shaped stones which make up this evening brooch. Every stone is prong set and this setting would have been done by hand. You can clearly see the transitional style with Art Deco shapes and curved lines typical of 1940s jewellery. This vintage brooch also benefits from cup setting which raises some of the jewels to different levels making the whole brooch 3 dimensional and even more striking. The glass crystal diamante are set in a white metal, most likely Rhodium and the brooch is in Excellent order. Fastening with a secure roll over type clasp and pin this 1940s diamante brooch measures just under 5.5 cms bu a little under 3.5 cms by 0.5 cms. The blue accents make this brooch particularly suitable for bridal jewellery adding the all important ' something blue '.
