Sold. Art Deco 1920s to 1930s Fan Shaped Scarf Ring - Celluloid with carved decoration
This is a smart and useful decorative scarf ring from the past, dating to the Art Deco era - 1920s to 1930s. It is made from the collectable early plastic celluloid. It is a soft blue but benefits from an over-lay of grey which has a slash cut design. This type of early plastic jewellery; often termed 'carved' is among the most desirable to collectors of Bakelite era pieces. So the small, sweet scarf ring measures just over an inch in length and a bit less than an inch in width. You use it like a toggle or woggle to simply slip over your scarf ends and retain them in a neat way. Perfect for silks, pashminas and other fine fabric scarves. The scarf ring is in excellent condition.
