SOLD Pools of Light Rock Crystal Locket on Silver Bow Brooch
Pools of Light jewels are really hard to find so I am delighted to offer this amazing Locket silver brooch combination. The pools of light Locket is made of Sterling Silver encasing natural rock crystal cabochons. The clear, perfect rock crystals sit elegantly in their silver frame. These crystals are domed to reflect the light and it is your choice whether to place a treasured memento like a tiny photo, pressed flower, love note or sentimental lock of hair within. The crystal Locket with its hinge measures 2cms by 1.5cms by 1.5cms and opens and shuts well. I purchased this piece suspended on a pretty English Edwardian silver bow brooch but I suspect that the pools of light rock crystal Locket may be Victorian. Sometimes over their history jewels are altered and combined in new pleasing arrangements. The silver bow brooch is delicately decorated with engraved flowers adding to the romantic appeal of the jewel. There is a clear makers mark to the reverse of AJC and the lion passant for sterling silver, the City of Chester shield meaning it was assayed in Chester and a script letter ‘k’ for the year 1910. There is a good, strong clip holding the Locket to the silver bow brooch it is marked ‘SS’ for Sterling Silver and also has the lion symbol. The clip, which is just like those used on antique pocket watch chains, opens and shuts easily meaning you could transfer the Locket to a chain, silk thread or choker if you wanted a necklace or could wear it on a chain bracelet or charm bracelet if you like.
This is piece of antique silver jewellery is in excellent condition. Complete with the Locket suspended on the bow brooch the dimensions are 3.5cms across at widest part of the bow with a total drop of approximately 5cms. The brooch pin is well retained by an old fashioned ‘c’ type clasp closure and I have given it a very light polish with a silver cloth. A rare and beautiful collectors item this romantic jewel is one of the nicest pool of light rock crystal lockets I have found.
