Silver Plated Powder Compact - Stratton circa 1960s to 1970s

A powder compact from the English Stratton brand will always be of the highest quality.  Here we have a mint, unused, Stratton compact in its original box with slip case and all paper labels. Inside the compact has a mirror and a block guard making it suitable for pressed block powder. There is also the original powder guard for loose powder and the fabric back from a puff with Stratton logo and "Made in England" on it.  I guess the foam powder puff itself may have deteriorated over the years and was not with the compact when I purchased it! The compact is finished in real Silver plate with diamond cut finish to the front where there are also pretty little wheel cut details finished with gold.  The reverse is engine cut with lines and chevrons. This engine cutting on the surface didn't just look pretty it also protected the finish from finger marks. This compact measures a sensible 3.25 inches in diameter and is 1 cm deep. I would estimate that this vintage powder compact mirror dates to the late 1960s to early 1970s.
