Silver Flower Brooch - 1940s Marcasite Brooch (SOLD)
Dating from the 1940's era this silver and marcasite vintage brooch is in great condition. Measuring a little over 6 cms in length and slightly over 3 cms at its widest point in this flower brooch would certainly get noticed on the lapel of your jacket or coat. The detail on this old silver brooch is superb with the open flower heads, leaves and branches decorated with natural cut marcasite stones. In true vintage forties styles the flowers are tied with a neat bow motif. The reverse on the brooch is marked '935' and it has a good dark patina which adds to its antique jewellery appeal. The 935 silver mark means that this is a Continetal European Silver Pin. It fastens with a secure roll over type clasp and has a good sturdy pin. If you are wearing vintage 1940s fashion you should treat yourself to this lovely old continental silver brooch.
