Scottish Thistle Brooch - Signed Exquisite - 1960s Scottish Pin (Sold)

This is a really lovely cold enamel on gilt tone metal brooch from British maker 'Exquisite'. This great pin is of thistle flower with purple top, two naturalistic spiky leaves with green enamelling and a jaunty black and red spotted bow. The Brooch is in very good vintage condition and is ready to wear or add to a collection of signed 'Exquisite' jewelelry. Also included with the brooch is a photocopy of the leaflet that the Company placed in their pieces which says " These Scottish Souvenir Brooches have been specially designed for us and are protected under the following Registered Design Nos: 905226,905227, and 905225 which means that the designs of the Scottish brooches range, of which this thistle pin is one, dated from 1962. Obviously a souvenir item "Frae Bonnie Scotland". The Scottish collection were retailed through a showroom at Hope Street, Glasgow but the Exquisite Company's factory was based in Solihull, Warwickshire. The large thistle pin measures approx 2.5 ins (6.5cms) in length and is about an inch and a half (3.5cms ) at its very widest point across the tips of the leaves. This great brooch fastens with a secure roll over type clasp.
