Naval Crown Brooch - Sterling Silver Pin - Navy Crown Badge
This is a Sterling Silver Brooch, Pin or Badge in the design of the Naval Crown or Navy Crown. A nice example of a military badge or sweetheart pin; this is a pre-owned silver brooch offered in its original box. Fully hallmarked with the Lion Passant for British Sterling Silver with a 925 fineness, the Anchor for Birmingham and the letter 'w' for the year 1995 / 1996 and maker’s initials 'SM Ltd" this Sterling silver brooch is in excellent condition. It is a neat, small pin which could be used on a lapel or a tie. It measures just 2cms by 1.5cms and it fastens with a secure roll over type clasp and pin.
The Navy Crown was first used in Roman times and it depicts ship's sails and sterns cleverly arranged in a crown shape. This cast silver version is extremely detailed.
