Naval Crown Brooch - Sterling Silver- Bar Brooch Style - 1940s (sold)
This is a Sterling Silver bar Pin with a small silver Naval Crown in the centre. The brooch dates from circa 1940s and has the word 'Silver' on the back along with the makers mark which is 'Page of Plymouth'. This silver brooch is in excellent condition, measures 5 cms along the bar pin with the naval crown symbol measuring 1.5cms by 0.75cms.
The Navy Crown was first used in Roman times and it depicts ship's sails and sterns cleverly arranged in a crown shape. This cast silver version is extremely detailed.
