Modernist Ceramic Pendant with a touch of Picasso about it on Sterling Silver Chain (sold)
Modernist and abstract this ceramic pendant necklace has two lovers kissing. Their side on profiles make a face. This is a hand made item and I am uncertain of the date of it. It is a clever and unique piece of costume jewellery and it is stylish - and reminds me of the work of Picasso. It was very hard to capture the true colour of this piece of jewellery . The first photo of the pendant shows it too pale whilst image two shows the ceramic pendant about right in colour - an inky blue hue. The pendant has been marked by the artist and has the initials KA on the back. The pendant has been suspended on a sterling silver chain and is in good order with just darkening to the back of the ceramic pendant which is likely to be a sign of its age. The pendant wasn't originally on the silver chain when purchased, it was originally on a frayed leather cord but it works well on the sterling silver chain. Measurements are : Disc pendant 5cms in diameter and 3 mms thick whilst the chain is 55cms long including the lobster claw clasp. I think that the chain is newer than the pendant but both are secondhand/vintage costume jewellery pieces.
