Leather Studded Button with Metal Back 19th Century
Buttons from the past are good collectables and single buttons can be used to add a little bit of detail to modern outfits. This button dates to the 19th Century and is made of figured, or tooled leather mounted on metal. The back of the button has been "japanned" so is black in colour. The front has a pattern of leaves on caramel and brown leather which is studded with 16 individual brass studs. These studs can be clearly seen on the reverse along with the brass metal self shank loop for attaching the button to a garment. Measuring 4 cms in diameter this button is in excellent order.
