Hand beaded Dorothy Purse - Victorian - Green, Gold and White Beadwork
A late 19th Century to early 20th Century beadwork bag is on offer. This is a really pretty and well made little bag. Benefiting from a lattice pattern using lots of tiny green seed beads throughout. There are contrasting rectangular diamond patterns in gold and white making a design around the middle of the bag. There are also two striped areas using white, gold, white beads. Along the bottom of the dorothy style bag there are generous overlapping loops of beadwork as a fringe. Inside this antique beadwork purse is cream cotton lining and there is a natural cord pull for fastening. The bead work on this sweet little bag is really nicely finished and the bag is in very good to excellent condition throughout with no smell, stains or damage. This antique beaded purse measures 10cms by 13 cms with the fringed edge being 2 cms giving an overall length of 15 cms. A perfect little hand beaded bag from over one hundred years ago - you should add this to your antique bag and purse collection.
