Everlasting Love - Victorian Gilt Brooch with Bright Jewels on New Band

The Antique Brooch on this hair band is an oval of leaves.  The circle and oval are symbolic in Victorian jewellery - they mean everlasting!  This gorgeous gilt brass brooch is late 19th Century and is Bohemian or French in origin.  It has an aged gold patina and this is further enhanced with 16 individual bright glass crystal jewels.  Each jewel is facet cut and  would have been claw set in position by hand. There are three bright green, three pink, three purple, three bright blue and four yellow jewels here.  The hairband is a new pink satin covered flexible band.  The antique brooch measures approx one and three quarter inches by one and a half inches.  I have shown the hair band on my life size model Kate and also on a real human so you can see how the band works in a hairstyle.
