EVE Name Brooch - Eve Silver and Enamel Hallmarked Birmingham 1892 (SOLD)

Unusual Victorian silver name brooches are very sought after, particularly when they have a popular current name on them.  This lovely silver name pin bears the name 'EVE' picked out in strong blue enamel.  The brooch is further enhanced by an engraved design of leaves and scrolls around the outside edge.  The brooch is made of Sterling silver as indicated by the lion passant mark, it was hallmarked in Birmingham, as indicated by the Anchor mark and the gothic letter 's' is the cyfer used for the year 1892.  This brooch also has a makers mark on it but I am guessing the first letter to be a 'C' ( it is partially rubbed) and the second letter is clearly an 'H' in an oval cartouche.  This gorgeous antique silver name brooch is in very good condition. The name brooch measures 4.5cms by 1cm by half a cm.  The pin to the back is steel ( this is common on Victorian and 19th Century silver brooches) and it closes into a guarded end clasp.  It is rare to find enamel names on these brooches and even rarer to find them without any damage to that enamel especially considering this antique brooch is nearly 120 years old!
