ETHEL Edwardian Sterling Silver Name Brooch - Chester 1903 (Sold)

Super shiny and very pretty this Edwardian brooch has the name Ethel on it in applied block capital letters. The name pin had been professionally cleaned when I purchased it so looks as it would have done when first made 109 years ago!  Details on this antique name pin include a little engraving and applied flower with two leaves at the top and bottom of the name brooch, two sweet small shamrocks applied at either end and 8 ball decorations around the outside of the silver brooch. This collectable antique name brooch also has an additional safety chain and pin which is original.  Fully hallmarked as English Sterling Silver ( Lion passant) with the Chester symbol for the assay office and with the letter 'c' for 1903 the brooch is from the Edwardian era.  The markers mark is A & C being the makers marks of  Able & Charnell (Thomas Able & Walter James Charnell) jewellers based in Frederick Street, Birmingham.  So the Ethel name pin is in immaculate, as new, condition.  The name brooch, oval in shape,  measures 3.50 cms by 22 mms and has a long pin with old fashioned 'c' type clasp to the reverse.  Would make a lovely gift for a new baby Ethel or a treat for an Ethel who may be nearly as old as the brooch itself!
