Enamel Powder Compact - Vintage Stratton - White and Grey Floral Compact (SOLD)
A classic vintage compact from quality British makers Stratton. This is an enamelled vintage powder compact with a gold toned metal used throughout. The reverse of the compact has engine turned decoration to the middle where the Sratton signature has pride of place in the middle. This is a floral compact with a white background and a spray of grey coloured flower blooms and greeny brown foliage. The design has a real late 1950s to early 1960s feel about it and Stratton were certainly manufacturing at that time. The shape of the compact is known as 'The Queen Convertible' and was in production from 1957 until 1997. This particular model was the largest compact that Stratton manufactured in a round shape with an indented edge pattern. The 'convertible' is exactly that - a powder compact designed to take a block of solid powder or to use with the addition of a suitable sieve for loose powder. This fabulous vintage compact is in very good condition throughout and it has been 'previously used as there are traces of powder residue an that special lovely smell that vintage compacts have - takes you back in time when 'powdering your nose' whilst peeking into your compact mirror was a really feminine thing to do! This Stratton compact is 3 inches in diameter and about 1cm in depth.
