Edwardian to 1920s Crystal Necklace - Antique Golden Crystal Necklace
Here is a beautiful golden amber coloured facet cut antique crystal necklace. This is a piece of original jewellery from the period between the elegant British Edwardian age at the very beginning of the 20th Century up to the emergence of Art Deco styling around the 1920's. The crystal bead necklace is wired, which means that the hand cut glass beads are held together with brass pins and loops. The necklace has a simple style to it with a central oblong drop bead and round beads in various sizes used for most of the design. In common with many necklaces from the early 20th Century this necklace has a facet cut drop suspended from a golden filigree bead . I am fairly certain that this necklace was made and designed in Continental Europe, possibly France or more than likely Bohemia. Now for the size : - this antique necklace is 52cms long with the central drop part measuring approx 5cms. This necklace is in very good to excellent order with no flea bites or nicks on the beads and just a bit of dullness to the brass metalwork. All in all this is a lovely design and a really wearable vintage costume bead necklace from the Edwardian to Art Deco times.
