Crinoline Lady Brooch 1940's Hand painted Lucite Brooch

What a pretty scene is on this Crinoline Lady Brooch. This is a superb example of  figural Lucite jewellery.  Dating from the 1940's this lovely brooch would have been hand-painted on to the oval of green Lucite .   This particular pin is decorated with a crinoline lady.  She is dressed in a pale purple frock with matching picture hat and shows just a little of her lace petticoat. Our lovely lady is strolling along a paved path, through a very pretty garden with a bouquet of flowers in her hand.  There is a variety of flowers in the border, some pink, some yellow, some white and some blue.  Overhead we have clouds and birds flying in the sky.  This pin, which is oval in shape, is a great collectable for anyone interested in Bakelite era and early plastics .  Lucite was Dupont's trade name for their acrylic plastic material which they patented in the 1930's and is usually the name given to brooches and pins of this type of perspex plastic material.
It has a brass pin back with an guarded 'c' type fastener. This lovely item of vintage costume jewellery is in excellent order and is a good size measuring
approximately 52 mms by 45 mms.
