Coral Coloured 1930s to 1940s Art Deco Bead Necklace - Hand Carved Early Plastic

This necklace has all the elements that are looked for in great early plastic Bakelite era costume jewellery. It is Faux Coral that will make people think you are wearing real natural coral! It is said that "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" and this delightful bead necklace certainly looks the part and is wonderful and light to wear.  This is a stunning necklace made up of graduated different sized round shaped and hand cut beads.  The really has the look of real Mediterranean Coral but is actually made of the early Bakelite-era plastic know as casein or Galalith.  The larger beads have been decorated with a flower and leaf pattern created with a series of hand cuts and carvings; while the spacer beads are plain and shiny. This vintage necklace has the largest round carved beads being almost  2cms in diameter with the smallest carved beads on this necklace being nearly 1.5cms. This Art Deco bead necklace has been graduated throughout.  Fastening with a self roll clasp this necklace is in really good condition and ready to wear being recently re-threaded on strong Beadalon. It's a decent length too as it measures 20.5 inches long including the clasp.      My guess is that this is continental European dating from 1930s or 1940s.  This art deco period necklace would be a super addition to a collection of early plastics and bakelite jewelry and would appeal to anyone who collects interesting beads.  It would be equally at home as a treasured and wearable vintage necklace.
