Coconut Shell Fish Button
This is a nice example of carved coconut shell work. Many buttons and buckles were made this way. I think that the card is a copy of old artwork with some palm trees and the words "Coconut Creations" on it. It goes on to say that "These fine buttons are handmade from the coconut shell and their natural finish is obtained by rubbing with coconut oil. This quality handcraft is made in the Tonga Islands in the South Pacific" The fish is a sort of Angel Fish and he measures 1.75ins (4.5cms) by 1.5 ins (4cms).
