Classic 1950's Powder Compact by Vogue Vanities - Floral Pattern (Sold)

When a compact comes from the Vogue Vanities Series you are always assured of a top quality product.  This 1950s compact is just that - beautifully designed and decorated.  The compact has an ivory cream enamel covering both the front and the back.  The back of the compact is completely plain.  The front of this compact has a delightful floral design with pink harebell type flowers, little yellow daisy type flowers and jaunty bluebell type flowers all with leaves and stems picked out in green.  The colours chosen and the graphic design is so typically of the 1950s.  The compact has the shiny cream colour and then has goldtone metal throughout.  Measuring approximately 8.5 cms in diameter and a little under 1 cm in thickness it would be a standard sized compact.   It is in very good order all round but has been used and there are traces of powder within.  It has its original sleeve, which has certainly protected the exterior.  It also has its original powder sieve.  Inside it is signed 'Vogue Vanities, Trademark, Made in England'.  I have not seen this particular pattern before so feel it may be a bit rarer that the forest and turkish scene compacts that Vogue Vanities were famous for in the 1950s.  This lovely compact could be used or added to your collection of compacts and vanity items from the past.
