Chinese Willow Pattern Embroidered Brooch - 1940's - 1950s -

Here we have a lovely hand embroidered vintage brooch in the Willow Pattern more commonly seen on blue and white china plates and flatware.  On a white satin background a Chinese scene has been created in pale blue and dark blue threads. We have the Pagoda, Bridge, Water and Tree with blossom branches all inspired by this much-loved old design. This is a handmade brooch with various embroidery stitches made onto the white fabric background. The brooch is oval in shape with a chromed rope twist frame. This hand made vintage brooch dates from circa 1940 - 1950 when these items were most popular. The brooch measures 2.5 inches by 1.75 inches and is in good condition. The back of the brooch has a pin with open c type closures and it is all in good condition.
