Bowls Tie Clip - Vintage Stratton Clip 1970s 22ct Gold Plated in Original Presentation Box
Here is a sporting treat, a tie clip in the form of a miniature person playing bowls. There is great attention to detail on the tie clip which is beautifully engraved with an attractive textured pattern. There is a person wearing a hat poised to roll a bowl which has black enamel detail on the bowling ball itself . The tie clip is base metal finished with bright 22ct yellow gold plate - it is a quality item.
It measures 5.5cms in length and is 1.5cms wide at its widest point with the tie bar being around 7mms wide. This vintage tie clip fastens with a hinged clip with gripper which allows you to slide the clip onto your tie and set it in place. The reverse of the clip is marked “ STRATTON" 'Made in England' with the patent number 2164082 which is related to the clip mechanism and was held for this from 1939/40. This would be a good tie pin to add to a collection of vintage novelty tie accessories or a great gift for a sporting bowls player. This vintage Stratton tie pin dates to the 1970s period. It is offered in its original Stratton Black and Gold leatherette box marked with the brand Stratton of London in gold script. .
