Bangle Bracelet - Faux Coral Celluloid - 1930s - 1950s (sold)
This is a slim Celluloid bangle with lots of very detailed flower designs all over it. The floral decorations include four Cabbage Roses amongst lots of cheerful open Daisies and leaves all appearing on this great bracelet. The Coral colour is a natural orange red which enhances the carved and moulded floral pattern. Measuring only half an inch in width, the bangle has an inner diameter of 2.7 inches across approx, making it suitable for a small to medium wrist and hand. These amazing bangles were mostly made in Japan to imitate carved Coral, carved Ivory and Carved Jade. This one is definitely from Japan as the remains of a paper label with the word 'Japan' on it is inside. The inside also shows a cream marbling to the plastic, a feature that serious early plastic collectors look out for. The Coral colour bangles are more rare and have now become very collectable and increasingly difficult to find. They look delightful worn grouped together or with old bakelite bangles just the thing for your vintage wardrobe, vintage costume jewellery or early plastic collection. This vintage bracelet is in excellent condition.
