Art Deco Jabot Pin - 1930s Silver and Faux Jade Brooch
This lovely Art Deco Jabot pin dates to the early 1930s. Crafted in England in Sterling Silver it has an oriental style to it. An oval jewel of pressed glass makes a convincing Jade stone. The jewel is a marbled pale green with a pierced leaf and flower decoration. The attention to detail is excellent as there are 6 natural marcasite jewels set in Silver beneath the stone in a leaves decoration and the cup that supports the claw-set faux jade is chased with a laurel effect border. Offered in Excellent condition the brooch is marked Sterling and England to the reverse. To the reverse it has a long base metal pin with a fully guarded 'safety pin' style closure making it suitable for not only the lace jabot ruffle but also a lapel, scarves, shawls, kilts and hats. Measurements are Length 3.5 inches with the width at widest floral top - half and inch.
