Art Deco Diamanté White Paste Slide Buckle or Ornament or Hat Decoration - French Circa 1920- 1930
Here we have a classic slide buckle from the Art Deco period. It is made from brass metal set with diamanté glass jewels. There are sixty round facet cut stones; nice and bright jewels, making up the design. These glass diamonds are foil backed and are claw set in collared cups. This lovely sparkling ornament dates from the deco years, between 1920 and 1930. It has a belt loop on the reverse ready for it to be neatly placed on a belt or ribbon or onto a hat band. It is flat in shape - it would sit beautifully on a hat front, particularly on the cloche hats that were so popular in the first quarter of the 20th Century. It is a nice sized costume accessory being 5cms by just over 2.5cms. It is offered in very good order, with the stones bright and even. This would be perfect for a wedding dress; for an Art Deco themed event for a millinery project or to add to a collection of Art Deco jewellery.
