Art Deco Diamanté White Paste Sew-on Dress Ornament or Hat Decoration - French Circa 1920- 1930
Here we have a fantastic Art Deco sew-on ornament. It is made from white metal set with diamanté glass jewels. There are six big square cut stones, eight large round jewels, and twenty four smaller jewels making up the design. These glass diamonds are gold foil backed and are set in white metal collared cups. This lovely sparkling ornament dates from the deco years, between 1920 and 1930. It has two loops on the reverse ready for it to be neatly stitched onto a hat, belt, bag, dress or other item. It is flat in shape - it would sit beautifully on a hat front, particularly on the cloche hats that were so popular in the first quarter of the 20th Century. It is a nice sized costume accessory being 7cms by just over 3cms. It is offered in very good order, with the stones really bright and even. This would be perfect for a wedding dress; for an Art Deco themed event for a millinery project or to add to a collection of Art Deco jewellery.
