Art Deco Buckle - Celluloid and Diamante Hat Ornament - Slide Buckle - French Costume Accessory
Art Deco buckles of this quality are hard to find. This is a slide type buckle , it is French and dates from the period circa 1915 - 1930. This black buckle is made of the early plastic Celluloid and it is futher enhanced with inset white diamante glass faceted jewels and white decorative lines. The design is typically Art Deco and has all the glitz and glamour associated with good design from France. It is simple to just slide a piece of ribbon, or even a hat band into this buckle and it is ready to adorn and decorate. It would look stunning on a cloche hat of the Art Deco period but would also work as a belt adornment too. Size is 6.5 cms by 4 cms approximately and the celluloid and diamante slide buckle is in excellent condition.
