A Wedgwood Black Basalt Ceramic Cameo Brooch in Sterling Silver Mount (1)
Here is a beautiful detailed black and white Wedgwood Jasper ware Cameo brooch. This collectable piece of jewellery dates to the 1970s. The brooch is oval in shape, Landscape in format with a classical scene depicting a group of classical figures. They are in raised white ceramic relief on the unglazed black basalt ground. This detailed plaque is mounted in a border of Sterling Silver. The silver has a hallmark with JW for Josiah Wedgwood and then just the word Silver within the rim. This brooch is in excellent condition and is a good size being 1.75 inches by 1.25 inches. There is a photo of this Wedgwood Cameo brooch with a one pound coin to help you gauge the size. The brooch has a good, long silver pin finishing in a secure roll-over type clasp.
