A Silver and Rose Gold Sporting Shield Fob - Hallmarked Birmingham 1921
Here is a most collectable sporting vintage Fob in a shield shape with a repeat pattern on both sides. There are the Laurel leaves ( for the Victor) which proves this would have been intended as a sports medal or prize. With very nice detailed engine engraved patterns on the silver surfaces and an oval cartouche in rose gold on each side this is a quality piece of old jewellery. The cartouche is vacant so it could be engraved with appropriate initials if wished. This Sterling Silver Watch Fob bears the makers marks - 'FHA & Co' which shows it to have been made by F.H. Adams & Co a manufacturer based in New John Street West Birmingham, England. F.H. Adams are listed as working between 1919 and 1935 and their wares included sporting trophies and cups and fob medals.This Vintage Fob Medal has the Lion Passant to show it is 925 sterling silver, the hallmark of the Birmingham assay office (Anchor) and the letter 'W' which dates it to 1921. This collectable old silver vintage sports fob is in very good condition and measures 3cms by a little over 2cms. It has a punch hole with a silver ring to connect it to your watch chain or for the ladies it would look good as a necklace pendant or would go very nicely on a charm bracelet.
