A Silver and Rose Gold Football Fob - Hallmarked Birmingham 1925

Here is a most collectable sporting vintage Fob fir Football.  The Sterling SIlver Fob is virtually circular with a fancy scrolled top. There are the Laurel leaves ( for the Victor)  as this would have been intended as a sports medal or prize for a footballer. With very nice detailed engine engraved patterns on the silver surface and a shield shaped cartouche and a raised football both in rose gold on the face and a plain reverse side this is a good quality piece of old jewellery.  The cartouche is vacant so it could be engraved with appropriate initials if wished.  This Sterling Silver Watch Fob bears the makers marks  - 'WA'  which shows it to have been made by William Adams a manufacturer based in Barr Street, Birmingham, England. William Adams wares included sporting trophies and cups and fob medals.This Vintage Fob Medal has the Lion Passant to show it is 925 sterling silver, the hallmark of the Birmingham assay office (Anchor) and the letter 'A' which dates it to 1925.  This collectable old silver vintage sports fob is in very good condition and measures 3cms by a little over 2.5.  It has a top loop with a silver ring (also marked with the Lion Passant) to connect it to your watch chain or for the ladies it would look good as a necklace pendant or would go very nicely on a charm bracelet.
