A Faux Coral Jabot Pin - 1930s Chrome and Casein Rose Brooch
This pretty Jabot pin dates to the early 1930s. Crafted in Bakelite-Era carved plastic and in Chromed Metal it has an Art Nouveau to Art Deco style to it . A round Rose flower hand cut from early plastic makes a convincing Coral jewel. The" jewel" is a soft pale orange in colour. There is a detailed chromed metal leaf either side of the rose flower decoration. The attention to detail is good with the leaves having veins and the twisted design to the long front and the neat curled frond giving this piece a handmade look reminiscent of Jugendstil pieces. Offered in Excellent condition the brooch has a long base metal pin with a fully guarded 'safety pin' style closure making it suitable for not only the lace jabot ruffle but also a lapel, scarves, shawls, kilts and hats. Measurements are Length 3.5 inches with the width at widest floral top - half and inch.
