A Circle Scarf Clip in textured gold-tone aluminium - 1960’s Brutalist Scarf Ring
Aluminium metal was first used in jewellery manufacture in the Victorian era and it was commercially in use during in the 1860's. It was used to make Boxes, bijouterie and other items. Records indicate that tiny objects made from it were featured in the Paris Expositon Universelle for the first time in 1855. It also became a popular material for costume jewellery just after World War two and is often found used for necklace chains and bracelets in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
