19th Century Frame Style Micro Mosaic Brooch
This antique brooch is incredibly beautiful and detailed. Dating from the end of the 19th Century this little pin has been hand made with the application of tiny glass tiles to make a pretty design. This pretty pin, reminiscent of a small frame, is just under an inch square and yet it has hundreds of individual pieces of glass in its pattern. The "picture" inside this frame is a perfect miniature Daisy with 14 petals and a yellow middle held within a tiny square of turquoise tiles. Colours include white, yellow, green, black, terracotta red and turquoise blue. All the tiles are held within borders of gilt metal and the shape is most unusual. This brooch is in good condition, fastening with an old fashioned 'c' type clasp. It has the extra long pin favoured in the 19th Century and found on antique jewellery from the period.
