1960s Signed Coro Brooch - Stylised Flowers (Sold)
Quality signed jewellery from the American house Coro is much sought by collectors and it is easy to see why. This brooch epitomises the style of the early 1960s. We have heart shaped flowers in two shades of beige brown. The flower shapes are made of Lucite and are a thermoset plastic. Each heart flower is mounted onto a shaped setting and there are abstract open leaves in the design. The brooch has a gold plated finish and bears both the Coro signature and its original swing tag ticket. The brooch is in as new, excellent condition and is a good size being 3 inches by 1.75 inches in size. To the back there is a wishbone shape bar with the pin and secure roll over type safety clasp. This 1960s vintage brooch would have been part of a range with ear clips, necklace and bracelet available in the same style. Pieces by Coro were sold through upmarket department stores. The swing tag for this item declares it to be made in Canada where Coro also manufactured and retailed their jewelry.
